Pilates
The Pilates Method is a corrective exercise programme that improves muscle control, flexibility, co-ordination, strength and tone. Pilates exercises are concerned with the process itself - experiencing all movement from the inside out by focusing on the present moment instead of placing the entire emphasis upon "doing".
The basic principles of Pilates exercises are to make people more aware of their bodies as single integrated units, to improve alignment and breathing, and to increase efficiency of movement. Unlike other exercise programs, the Pilates Method does not require the mindless repetition of boring exercises that most people tire of quickly and subsequently abandon.
Angie and Mike are members of the prestigious Pilates Institute in London. We hold Pilates classes in Liverpool and surrounding areas.
The method consists of a sequence of carefully performed exercises; some carried out on specially designed equipment.
Over time Pilates will -
- Realign the spine and pelvis
- Reduce back and joint pain
- Help you move gracefully
- Aid better mind-body coordination
- Improve sleep and the ability to cope
- Build a long shapely body

Private sessions on a Pilates Reformer, with small equipment and matwork classes are available - please enquire for further details.

or illness or if you wish to rapidly tone up and slim down!! Mike and Angela are two of only a few teachers in Liverpool and Merseyside to have trained intensively in Pilates equipment and Pilates rehab work.
